Prerequisites

  • Google Chrome on a recent Mac or PC, with hardware acceleration enabled (other browsers are not supported)
  • A Google or Apple account
  • Invitation or whitelist access to Spark
If the 3D viewport is slow or unresponsive, check that Chrome hardware acceleration is turned on before troubleshooting anything else. This is the most common cause of a sluggish viewport.

Sign in for the first time

Navigate to the Spark web app and sign in with your Google or Apple account. If you have been invited to an existing organization, you will see it after signing in.
Sign in on the Spark web app before opening the Spark iOS app. Opening the iOS app before your web account exists is the most common cause of access problems for new users.

Create your first organization

Organizations are team workspaces that contain members and productions. Create one to get started:
  1. Select Create Organization from the dashboard.
  2. Enter a name for your organization.
  3. Invite team members by email (you can also do this later).

Create a production

Productions are project containers — one per film, episode, or commercial.
  1. Open your organization.
  2. Select New Production.
  3. Give the production a name and optional description.

Quick walkthrough

Once your production is created, try this end-to-end flow:
  1. Upload a script — Add a .fountain, Final Draft .FDX, or PDF file or create a blank script in the script editor.
  2. Open a scene — Scene headings in your script automatically generate scenes. Select one to open the scene editor.
  3. View in 3D — Navigate the 3D viewport to see your scene. Import assets, position objects, and set up a camera.

Getting help inside Spark

The Help button at the bottom of the Spark web app opens an in-app assistant. Type a question about Spark, Jetset, or Autoshot, and it returns guidance pulled from current Lightcraft documentation.
